The office of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) on Jalan Latuharhary was quiet. All that could be seen was a group of students on hunger strike in the yard. A delegation from the Petition of 50 (a protest group founded in the 1980s) hovered uncertainly, as not a single member of Komnas HAM was present. Perhaps it was due to the fasting month, or maybe it was something else that made them reluctant to turn up.
