The DPR has rejected nearly one-third of the candidates for ambassadors proposed by the government. Is the House being unfair, and what are the standard criteria, anyway?

It's the fall season for Pejambon, the headquarters for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The House of Representatives (DPR) turned down nearly a third of the diplomatic candidates. This is a record so far. "If we wished to be more stringent," said House member Djoko Susilo, "probably more than half of the names from Pejambon would have fallen."

As a result, Pejambon must work harder to select and propose the new candidat
