TNI Commander in Chief, General Endriartono Sutarto, was the center of public attention these past two weeks. On September 24, the number one man in the Indonesian Military (TNI) submitted his letter of resignation to President Megawati Sukarnoputri. Even though she only had two weeks left as president, Mega accepted the resignation and passed it on to the House of Representatives (DPR) for approval and to seek a new military commander.
