THE good news came from the so called Verandah of Mecca. Ishak Daud, GAM spokesperson in the Idi Rayeuk district, made the promise in a satellite telephone conversation with TEMPO. He said the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) would release Ersa Siregar and Ferry Santoro—the two RCTI journalists that were held hostage by GAM since June—soon.
