THE strict requirements imposed on candidates for the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) do not apparently equate with the functions of the DPD. It has minimum authority in areas related to the legislation and the introduction of new laws. The Javanese term is ndak cucuk, or not worth it. Thus, it is nothing more than just expert staff members of the House of Representatives (DPR), if it does not want to be simply called an assistant.
