It seems that South Sumatra is not the only region to be "governorless." Far earlier, Lampung faced a similar problem: a governor-elect who never came to be. The pair of Alzier Dianis Thabranie and Anshory Yunus should have been inaugurated into office. In the election for governor on December 30, 2002, Alzier, the Chairman of Lampung's Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Kadin), defeated Oemarsono and Syamsurya Ryacudu.
