Sandra Burton, one of Time magazine's first women correspondents and a Bali resident, has passed away.

SANDRA Burton, who was often regarded as the quintessential foreign correspondent, died on February 27 of a fall at the Sanur, Bali home which she shared with her long-time companion, Robert Delfs, also a former journalist. During more than 30 years with Time, she covered Europe and Asia, with eventful stints as the magazine's bureau chief in Paris, Hong Kong and Beijing.
