AT 3am on Thursday, November 14 one of Bali’s best known icons passed away, having lived a very full and eventful 79 years. It is impossible to think of Ibu Gedong Bagoes Oka without thinking of Gandhi. Though Ibu Gedong never met him in real life, she immersed herself so totally in his thought that her life became an almost exclusive mission to uphold his principles.
