The first order the Indonesian state railway company made to US company General Electric (GE) was delivered to Jakarta in 1953, long before the current CEO of GE Transportation, Lorenzo Simonelli was born, 37 years ago. Yet, Simonelli is well versed with the history of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), particularly since 20 new GE locomotives now grace the KAI railways, as of last year.
