The elections are getting closer, but preparations remain chaotic. The situation is serious, but not yet critical.

SOME people are worried that the elections will fail because the technical preparations have not been completed according to plan. With very little time left, the General Elections Commission (KPU) seems to be mired in confusion, chasing unfinished work. The increasingly harsh criticism heaped on the KPU has added to the pre-election jitters. The critics aren't wrong. The situation is fairly serious, but it has not yet reached a real crisis.
