Perhaps some of us were surprised to hear that one of Rupert Murdochs companies bought 20 percent of ANTV shares. Imagine strategic discussions at the News Corp. HQ in Australia ending with one conclusion: the media moguls finger pointed at Indonesia.

Slowly but surely, the network and capital of this media giant are moving in, and the impact is being immediately felt. Both Star TV and the Bakrie group refused to divulge how much the merger cost, but Anindya Bakrie, president of ANTV, described it as a multimillion dollar transaction.
