TWO weeks ago, in Clichy-sous-Bois, a suburb of Paris, they heard the news. Two young men, Zyed Benna, 17, and Bouna Trore, 15, had been running for their lives. Behind them were police officers trained to catch criminals, in front of them an electric fence. They had done nothing wrong, but whether they knew it or not, they were about to make their last decision: they climbed the fence and were electrocuted.
