After delays, the Witness and Victim Protection Bill is being re-worked. Providing immunity to people reporting crimes should be considered.

MANY crimes often remain unsolved because witnesses refuse to appear in court for fear of reprisals. Now the House of Representatives (DPR) has resumed work on the Witness and Victim Protection Bill. It is a little late because in several recent cases witnesses were not prepared to come forward and testify. That was the impression we got in the investigation of the Munir murder case, to give just one example.
