Muslim organizations in Cirebon oppose the appointment of a non-Muslim local Police Chief, an apparent abuse of the sacred spirit of the revered, local Sunan Gunungjati.

IF it is not bigotry, stagnation or obstinacy, then it must be concocted. The religious spirit of Sunan Gunungjati has been grossly misrepresented as a reason for rejecting the appointment of the Cirebon District Police Chief, who happens to be a non- Muslim. Members of Muslim organizations in this northern Java coastal city have protested strongly.
