The President has every right to change his cabinet. However, the reasons for it must be clear and rational-not just communication problems.

PRESIDENT Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's creation of the post of Deputy Foreign Minister should be based on sensible considerations. If the job is established merely because the President finds difficulty in communicating with Minister Hassan Wirajuda, it does not seem to make sense. In fact, it raises some questions. Why, in this day and age of modern sophistication, should communication be a problem?
