THE 20-year jail sentence for prosecutor Urip Tri Gunawan handed down by the Corruption Court last week was entirely appropriate. The official, who had “sold” his position—and his respect—by accepting bribes, fully deserved the maximum sentence. Once again, the anti-corruption court should be praised for consistently handing down the toughest possible sentences to those found guilty of corruption. The irony is that at the end of next year
