THERE has to be something wrong with the policy to develop Indonesia’s eastern region. Its marine areas offer incredible potential. It is rich in mining resources, including oil and gas. There are vast expanses of land. Yet, after 63 years of independence, our provinces in the east still lag behind in every respect. Indeed, it is still very much a “far and away” place.
