Bailing Out Bakrie?

THE government is going through a lot of trouble over the Bakrie Group, which has been caught up in the global financial crisis. Unfortunately, the cabinet is now split between those who want to bail out the business empire of Aburizal Bakrie, Indonesia’s richest man according to Forbes magazine, and those who refuse.
The government’s position is difficult to understand. Last Friday, Vice President Jusuf Kalla posed a rhetorical question:
