IN Medan recently, democracy was applied in a primitive and unusual way. About one thousand demonstrators demanded the establishment of Tapanuli province. They attacked the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) building, stormed the chambers, chased and beat up DPRD Speaker Abdul Aziz Angkat, whom they believed opposed their demands.
