Abortion’s Grey Area

THE number of abortions for non-medical reasons has reached a horrifying level. Some 100,000 women in Jakarta are estimated to have aborted their fetuses every year. The demand for abortions has led to a kind of black market where the “market price” for illicit abortions has soared due to the limited number of medical personnel.
