Teachers have lost much of their authority. And now they've been proven less smart than the children they teach.

There isn't much more that can be said about teachers in this country, as their standard of living has yet to improve, let alone their dignity.

Their gloomy situation is not that different from what is described in Oemar Bakri, a song Iwan Fals wrote many years ago. In villages, they go to school on worn-out bikes while their students ride motorcycles. In cities, they rely on public buses while their students turn up in luxury cars.
