THE National Police Chief has canceled his plan to withdraw four investigators seconded to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). For the time being, this anticorruption body has avoided a situation which would have reduced it to something resembling a toothless animal, unable to threaten anyone, most especially those guilty of corruption. Investigators are the vanguards who play a decisive role in the effort to eradicate corruption.
