WE need not wait for the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia to issue a fatwa, or religious ruling on the hidden costs of going on the haj. What is needed is for the government to propose increasing the cost of going on a pilgrimage to the holy land and discuss it at Senayan, home of the House of Representatives (DPR). The issue should be decided by the parliamentarians, who have been holding sessions for the past few weeks.
