IF the police are unable to cleanse themselves of corruption, they should not hope to gain public sympathy. This needs to be pointed out because the National Police Force seems unchanged despite the 10 years of reforms being carried out. Their minor advances include the readiness to handle cases, to issue permits and keep the peace. But the police have yet to provide what the people really want: the eradication of corruption inside its body.
