THE National Police Chief made a fatal error regarding the “recording of a conversation” between case broker Ary Muladi and Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chief, Ade Rahardja. The admission that the police do not possess the recording, an about-turn from his previous statement, shows the police’s workmanship is a cause for worry. The extra caution that law enforcers should display was clearly absent in this case.
