BEEF has become expensive for most people. This can be seen from the very low per capita consumption in Indonesia. Last year, consumption of beef was only 7 kilograms per year, far less than the figures for Malaysia, where it is 59 kilograms, Singapore, 41.5 kilograms or the Philippines, 13 kilograms.
