IN Greek mythology, we read of Icarus, a young man who tried to escape from his island prison using wings of wax made by his father, Daedalus. He managed to take off, but when he passed too close to the sun, his wings melted, and he fell. He failed in his bid to escape. The band Iron Maiden aptly describe it in their line, “He flies on the wings of a dream.”
