There is injustice in how taxes should be paid in this country. This was the most important issue when people flocked to file their annual tax returns at the end of last month. We hope there is no repeat of last year's comedy: the 1,200 richest Indonesians paid only Rp1.2 trillion of personal taxes. This figure makes no sense. The conglomerates they manage control many companies. They have an extraordinary ability to produce huge profits.
