There is often a strange smell coming from our courts. This time the stink is caused by a verdict by the Corruption Court in the case involving Chevron Pacific Indonesia. The panel of judges found Chevron partner contractors Ricksy Prematuri and Herlan bin Ompo guilty of an environmental crime.

Ricksy and Herlan were sentenced to five and six years in jai respectively. They were also ordered to repay losses incurred to the state totaling US$9.98
