THE extensive use of television as a mouthpiece for station owners competing in the election is very worrying. There were violations from the first day of the campaign despite the existence of regulations governing broadcasts. The Election Monitoring Agency (Bawaslu) should take further action based on reports from the Press Council and the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI).
