These wise words of a statesman did not, unfortunately, come from Prabowo Subianto, who was defeated by Joko Widodo in the July 9 presidential election. They were included in a speech made by US presidential candidate Al Gore, after he lost to George Bush in 2000. If Prabowo had made a speech like that of Gore, perhaps some of his followers would not be exhibiting excessive disappointment that could lead to violent actions.
