WE must begin by saying that any cabinet reshuffle is the prerogative of the president. The political parties, the vice president and groups of people have every right to propose the replacement of ministers, but the final decision is in the hands of the chief executive. The president was directly elected by the people, and therefore is responsible to the people. He has full authority over appointments to the cabineta group of ministers who implement government policy at the technical level.
President Joko Widodo did promise to evaluate the ministers as soon as possible if they were not doing a good job.
