The world's jazz scene was stirred by the emergence of a child prodigy by the name of Joey Alexander, a native of Indonesiafrom Bali to be precise. Through YouTube, people in all corners of the world watched as a bespectacled, tiny 12-year-old boy play My Favorite Things on a huge grand piano that dwarfed him.
To many, jazz is a freedom with almost no boundaries where one can explore and improvise a song without restrictions. The melodies flow as if following a formal structure, but there was no structure and as such they freely rise and fall, sway or do acrobatics without ruining the integrity of the song.
