The arrest of Andri Tristianto, head of the cassation and judicial review subdirectorate, is proof that corrupt practices are still rampant within the Supreme Court. Time and again, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) catches employees accepting bribes. And still more cases keep coming up.

Andri's modus operandi is quite simple, even 'foolish' given his position. He accepted Rp400 million from Ichsan Suadi, a defendant in the East Lombok port graft case, to postpone the announcement of the verdict so Ichsan can delay serving his four-year prison sentence. Investigators also found Rp500 millionallegedly related to the same caseat his office.
