How should a `mother of the nation' or a `father of the nation' behave? This is an easy question, but not an easy one to answer. There is almost nothing to guide someone in this position. The existing Protocol Law only touches on the role of the `mother of the nation', or the First Lady. It does that in an indirect way and the guidance it gives is far from comprehensive.
