The government and the DPR should not be in a hurry to ratify the Mother and Child Welfare Bill. It needs further study for effective application.
DESPITE giving a sense of being progressive, some parts of the Mother and Child Welfare Bill still need careful scrutiny. It would be untoward for a regulation that aims to guarantee the maternity rights of women and their offspring to instead perpetuate women’s domestication and be only a toothless law in application.
