The government plans to restart operations at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. It is time to reexamine the private sector management scheme.
THE disarray over the transfer of management of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport is a portrait of the chaotic management of state assets. The government cannot simply hand over the management of the airport in eastern Jakarta to a private company that has no competence in managing this type of strategic infrastructure. Furthermore, this transfer is a product of a problematic process that only benefits one particular party.
