THERE is already considerable evidence of monopoly practices in the electricity sector frequently leading to inefficiencies. At a time when the government is pushing for the use of renewable energy, unhealthy competition does not only disadvantage customers, but also has the potential to delay the energy transition. One incentive under threat is the supply of electricity from rooftop solar power generators (PLTS).
