The economy and the legal sector needs improving, but the political system also needs an overhaul. The new law on political parties—Law No. 31/2002—issued on December 27, had some good points. But parts of the law are still unsatisfactory. It is hoped that some of the shortcomings can be overcome by how the law is implemented, or covered by other legislation dealing with politics.
