People can call him naive, or even funny, but the case of judge Hasan Basri is ample proof of how shadowy our justice environment appears to be.
The chairman of a commercial court panel of judges who declared PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia bankrupt, confessed to the Audit Commission on State Officials' Wealth (KPKPN) that 10 percent of assets in his bank account came from people who were being tried. Hasan said it wasn't bribery.
