Two NGOs have reported former Environment Minister Nabiel Makarim to the police demanding that he be declared a suspect in the Buyat pollution case.

THE Bay of Buyat in the North Sulawesi District of South Minahasa is becoming a quagmire for those charged with the contamination of the bay waters. They are no ordinary citizens. At least six officials of PT Newmont Minahasa Raya, including its president director, have been named suspects.
