THE Golkar Party threw away a golden opportunity at its 7th National Convention in Denpasar last week. The political force which for more than 30 years dedicated itself to supporting Suharto had a chance to make real changes. It had the opportunity to select, among its membership, the best man who would genuinely get the support from all levels of the organization.
