PEOPLE die suddenly and in large numbers all too easily in this republic. Nothing more than a sliding pile of garbage buried alive more than 100 people. The West Java Executive Director of the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (Walhi), Denny Jasmara, was entirely right when he said that this was an extremely stupid and shameful incident. It was not a natural disaster, but a man-made disaster.
