In the Sydney Pollack film, Havana, produced 13 years ago, one of the protaganists, Jack Weil, lamented that war never makes any sense. Based on a script by Judith Rascoe, the film was set in Havana on December 31, 1958, when the Caribbean Paradise, located across the water from Miama, was celebrating the New Year.
