The powers of the House of Representatives (DPR) after the fall of the New Order regime are extraordinary. The DPR was once a rubber-stamp legislative body, but now it really has teeth. It still enjoys its controversial rights, such as determining its own budget, questioning people as well as demanding explanations from government ministers.
