Although it's not yet certain whether or not Aberson is guilty, the public is convinced there is an epidemic of bribery at the DPR. The case really needs to be settled through legal channels.

WHO could have imagined that one single check could cause such an extraordinary furor? It all started when a cleaner called Sandi at the House of Representatives (DPR) found a traveler's check on the eighth floor of the Nusantara I building. Sandi took the check to Anshari Ritonga, the Director General of Budgets, and had absolutely no inkling of what was to follow. It all happened so fast and has now turned into a case of character assassination....
