Hiding in Plain Sight

IT was a noble idea to begin with. Regional interests must be represented in the governing of this country. The old system of representation, still in practice today, has failed to bridge the gap between the central government and the provinces. The regional authorities are seen to be no more than an extension of the central government. It is a system that may have contributed to the ongoing tension between the center and the provinces.
