Indonesian Forests in Disarray

THE western tip of Weh Island, Aceh, is covered with wild forest. It is a great experience to take a rest there, watching the open sea with the breeze blowing, surrounded by playing monkeys and calling birds. When Tempo visited the area last month, it appeared that not one tree had been felled by chainsaws.
