I USED to go to school with my sister. She was a really smart student. But she had to drop out when my father chose me over her because he couldn’t pay for both of us to go to school,” said Ace Suryadi, Non-Formal and Informal Education Director-General at the Education Department. “My father chose a son over a daughter,” said Ace recalling his own father’s discrimination, “I don’t want this to happen to other women.”
