THE Togean Islands comprise four subdistricts: Togean, Unauna, Walea, and Walea Islands. This region has abundant biological resources. The Regional Development Planning Board of Tojo Unauna estimated in 2006 that the stock of fish in the waters of Tomini Bay reached 196,753 tons a year. But the fish potential was only 24 percent utilized.
